We’re back in the dojo. Still requiring masks, vaccination, and copious hand sanitization between techniques but happy to practice again. Come back and stretch your shoulders!
Well it was fun to be practicing again but Aikido Ithaca is back in lockdown. The numbers are too high and omicron is too transmissible. Here’s hoping for a less contagious 2022!
We’re braving classes again after a 20 month pandemic hiatus. Masks and vaccination required and unlimited hand sanitizer supplied for use between techniques. Stay home if you’re not feeling well. Use the contact form if it’s your first time joining us.
Due to recent guidelines issued by federal, state, and local health agencies to slow the spread of COVID-19, we are going to suspend classes.
For our population (young, healthy, relatively good-looking) our risk is low for morbidity and we do not think the risk of transmission is particularly high for our classes at this time. However, we do want to err on the side of caution in order to protect the elderly and immunocompromised and take measures to reduce the possibility of transmission so as not to overload healthcare resources. In the meantime, it’s a great time to put into action all those great aikido skills you have been practicing all this time! Practice breathing exercises (alone)! Work on your posture in a mirror. Try balancing on one foot! Integrate our basic principles into daily life and be a leader for others in this crisis. We will let you know when we can resume class. Stay healthy and don’t worry! Saturday February 1st Paul Gardner sensei will be leading a seminar with members of his dojo at Aikido Ithaca! 9:30-12.
Overindulge in pumpkin pie? No problem! Work off your gluttonous Thanksgiving feast at the usual class time this Thursday November 28th.
